Bowling for Camp AsthmaCadabra
Wilkes-Barre --- As her senior project, Casey Phillips recently held the “Bowling for Camp AsthmaCadabra” at Chacko's Family Bowling Center, 195 N. Wilkes-Barre Blvd., Wilkes-Barre. Camp AsthmaCadabra is an overnight camp for children who have asthma. The camp is a joint effort of the Max and Lorraine Foundation and the American Lung Association. The camp is fully staffed (24 hours a day) with doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, respiratory therapists, camp counselors, and volunteers. Camp AsthmaCadabra is for boys and girls ages 7-12 who might otherwise be denied a summer camping experience because of their asthma. Nearly $500 was raised and over 50 bowlers participated in the event which included bowling, shoe rental, pizza and soda. Proceeds will benefit Camp AsthmaCadabra 2011.
